`Hi there! Thank you for visiting my page! Here is a little bit about me and how I became a Children's Book Author and Illustrator.
This photo is me at my “home office” (which is actually just a little nook with my desk in our dining/living space 😆). The chair I’m sitting in, I made in a woodworking class a couple years ago. I love designing and building furniture. I have made several pieces over the last few years. As a kid, I loved drawing and was constantly filling up sketch books with cartoons. I liked to draw characters from Disney movies, the Comics section of the newspaper and even create my own! As I got a little older, I also found a love for creative writing. I soon began to pair my illustrations with stories and handmade several of my own books. My love for art carried through to college where I studied Architecture and Graphic Design. After graduation, I pursued a career in the design field. A few years ago, my mom was cleaning out my childhood room and gave me a box filled with my books and sketches from when I was younger. She doesn’t like to throw away anything I made growing up! As I was reading through my books, I was reminded of how much I loved writing stories and drawing characters. After working as a product and graphic designer for 13 years, I decided to pursue my childhood dream of becoming an author/illustrator and left my corporate job. My first book, Finn’s Fun Fish Adventure, was inspired by one of the books in that box my mom handed me. Thanks, Mom! I absolutely love writing and illustrating children’s books and am so happy I took that leap.
And although I love being a Children's Book Author and Illustrator, my greatest and most favorite role in life is as mom to my son Everest, 2 years old, and daughter Vivia, 4 months. We currently reside in Eastern Pennsylvania and love to spend our weekends at the park, taking walks, getting together with family and taking our son to any events that have trucks (his favorite)!
